One of the three scientists awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for 2013 is Prof. Arieh Warshel. The Nobel prize was awarded to professor Warshel together with his colleagues, Michael Levitt and Martin Karplus, “for the development of multiscale models for complex chemical systems”.

Professor Warshel is a technion graduate. In 1966 he completed his BSc. at the Faculty of Chemistry (now the Schulich Faculty of Chemistry) at the Technion. In 1965, he was awarded the "Technion Award – Best Third-Year Student in Chemistry". From Technion he graduated Summa Cum Laude.
