In an additional inspiring Technion connection to the Paralympics: the ceremonial cauldron in Trafalgar Square, to launch the torch relay at the opening of the Games, and in the presence of British PM David Cameron, was lit by Claire Lomas, wearing the ReWalk exoskeletal suit invented by Technion graduate Dr. Amit Goffer, and developed and manufactured by the company he heads, Argo Medical Technologies. ReWalk is a life-changing invention that enables parapalegics to walk.

Claire Lomas gained international fame last May when she completed the London Marathon wearing ReWalk.
